Archimedean spiral

It can be described in polar coordinates [math]\displaystyle{ (r, \theta) }[/math] by the equation

[math]\displaystyle{ \, r=a+b\theta }[/math]

with real numbers [math]\displaystyle{ a }[/math] and [math]\displaystyle{ b }[/math].
